In The End - Linkin Park

Nisan 2001'de yayınlanan parça, Linkin Park vokali Chester Benington'un büyürken yaşadığı zorluklardan esinlenerek yazılmış. Solistin de baya sıkıntılı bir geçmişi varmış. Şarkının ana teması yaşamanın bir anlamı olmadığı üzerineymiş, o yüzden video klibini elden geldiğince pozitif çekmeye çalışmışlar.
Bunun yanında 2001 yılında bolca Linkin Park ve metal dinleyen Charles Andrew Williams adlı problemli bir çocuk iki sınıf arkadaşını vurup öldürmüş, ailesine bıraktığı notta da bu şarkının sözleri olan "I tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end it doesn't even matter" cümlelerine yer vermiş.
